1. Return to GBHS Fontem Initiative

In the wake of conflict and devastation, GBHS Fontem stands as a beacon of resilience and hope. Our “Return to GBHS Fontem Initiative” seeks to rejuvenate this cherished institution by encouraging former students, stakeholders, and community members to reconnect with their roots. This project aims to:

  • Promote Reconnection: By organizing reunions, campus tours, and engagement activities, we foster a sense of belonging and nostalgia, inviting alumni to revisit their alma mater and contribute to its revival.
  • Support Reconstruction: We are committed to aiding the physical and infrastructural rebuilding of GBHS Fontem, ensuring that the institution can once again serve as a thriving educational environment for current and future students.
  • Cultivate Engagement: Through volunteer programs and collaborative events, we aim to deepen the involvement of ex-students and community members in the school’s restoration efforts.

2. Solidarity Contributions

At GBHS Fontem Ex-Students Association (GB0209), we recognize the importance of standing together during both joyous and challenging times. Our “Solidarity Contributions” project embodies our commitment to collective support and unity by:

  • Celebrating Milestones: Organizing and participating in celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, and other significant life events, ensuring that every member feels celebrated and valued.
  • Providing Support During Hardships: Offering financial and emotional assistance during difficult times, such as illness or bereavement, to show our unwavering support and solidarity.
  • Mandating Contributions: Instituting a system of compulsory contributions to ensure that every member can participate in these acts of support, reinforcing our sense of oneness and shared responsibility.

 

3. Scholarship Program for Meritorious Students

Education is the cornerstone of progress and development. Our “Scholarship Program for Meritorious Students” aims to recognize and support exceptional students at GBHS Fontem by:

  • Awarding Scholarships: Providing financial assistance to high-achieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.
  • Encouraging Academic Excellence: Motivating students to strive for excellence through competitive scholarship opportunities that alleviate financial barriers and promote educational attainment.

4. Solar Electrification for Classrooms

Access to reliable and sustainable energy is essential for effective learning and development. Our “Solar Electrification for Classrooms” project is dedicated to:

  • Implementing Solar Power: Installing solar panels in all classrooms to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted power supply for educational activities.
  • Enhancing Study Conditions: Providing students with the ability to study and engage in academic activities at any time, regardless of external power outages or limitations.
  • Promoting Sustainability: Encouraging environmental stewardship by utilizing renewable energy sources, thus contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for the school and the broader community.
